Predicament: Promotion by Anointment Part 2
I wanted to continue some ideas from the
last newsletter discussing part 1 about the fact that most
companies are not training their people before moving them
into leadership. Over half of managers say
|
they have never gotten any management
training. Only 50% of workers rate their corporate
leaders as either "good or great job" and 23% rated them
"poor or very poor"! Forty percent of workers said top
leaders didn't "make an effort" to listen to employees or
address employee morale". Thirty three percent said
there was "not enough transparency, didn't communicate
openly and honestly". Thirty percent said "major
changes were made without warning" and 27% "workloads and
productivity demands are unreasonable". Another 21%
"didn't motivate me" while 20% said corporate leaders
"stopped investing in the development of employees".
Think about making the critical investment in management
